I'd love to hear what others are doing to incorporate differentiated activities into common core based lessons.

My grade level(3rd) does not officially start CCCS until next year but for differentiation at my school we use the workshop models ( reader's and writer's) and problem solving is part of our math standards already. For the workshop model I expect to be able to adapt to the CCCS because I can adapt my  mini lessons and my conferring questions to the CCCS. My current challange is being concistent and getting to all students each week for conferring. Also I've started looking for commonalities to the state standards we currently have. So far I've found many so the transition I hope will be will be smooth

Our school (CA) has started the Daily 5. Since it is our 1st year with it, teachers are exploring this new technique and are discussing different ways to incorporate it in a cross-curricular fashion. For differentiation, I believe teachers will need to really lockdown management for pulling small groups while the other students are working independently, or with partners, in a productive manner. This is always a challenge. The Daily 5 has much to offer in management of differentiated teaching.
