I'm currently trying to see how the standards will be assessed - I know that many organizations will be creating assessments at a state level, yet I would like to sample any and all exemplars of what teachers should be teaching towards. Any good sites or resources that expose how students will see multiple choice and/or open response/task items at the end of this coming year? Thanks!

Implementation of the Common Core State Standards will bring with it many changes, including how student mastery is assessed. However, standardized assessments aligned to the Common Core are still in development. There are two consortia that received funding from the U.S. Department of Education to develop assessment systems aligned to the CCSS. Each state that has agreed to implement the Common Core has signed on to one of the two consortia, and the tests will be administered beginning in the 2014-15 school year. For more information, you can see the consortia websites: http://www.parcconline.org and http://www.smarterbalanced.org

Check out the assessment specification documents found on the SmarterBalanced site. You may find these helpful in designing some of your own assessments, especially the performance tasks. One thing that struck me is the level of technology skills students will need, such as selecting text, inserting or moving sentences, etc. Instructional implications beyond the subject matter.

I was feeling the same way and so I started searching. This is what I found for high school math http://algebra1teachers.blogspot.com/2012/07/common-core-assessment-examples-for.html You may notice that many of these resources are for other grades and subjects as well. I hope this helps.
